Korea - Ode to Autumn | Jeju . Day 3

Travel Photography by Chiat Hau Photography (Korea - Ode to Autumn . Jeju . Day 3)

After a good sleep... It feel very great and refreshing in deed. Getting out from the guest house. It has never been so good feeling the morning air and sunshine at the Jeju. And yes it will be a great day! (Even though I know that we will be going to go through a lot of mountain routes and long ride for that day). :"D

More photos after the jump…

After getting a cup of cold coffee from the vending machine to kick start the day, we headed to the first waterfall, the JeongBang Fall. Sylvia (The guest house owner) has told us that the waterfall water might not be hugh but still it is a place to stop by for a quick visit. Do watch out for slippery rock when you go closer to the waterfall. From there, you could hear the waves from the sea too. You will notice that there are some merchant selling baked fish on the sea side as well. I think this is a pretty common view where you will find all these small stalls at the tourist attractions.

After visiting the waterfall, we have go for a 45min drive to the Haevichi Resort in Pyoseon-myun. The hotel is located right next to the ocean. There will be a scenic coastal road with plenty of beautiful, rocky shorelines to explore along the way. And actually, we go there for a lighthouse right in front of the hotel. The lighthouse is where the last scenes of the mega-hit drama “Iris” were shot.

Our next stop is Seopjikoji. There are a lot of tourist there and you will need to find sometimes to get the ride park properly. There will be some small shop that sell baked squid. We have tried one pack and it taste very very good in deed. :"D You will need to climb some distance to reach the top, but the view along the way is simply magnificent. Specially when you could see the stone beneath the clear water in the sea.

Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is one of the location which we can hardly forget. One is due to the view (where you will see mountain, sea and craters) and secondly is the distance that you will need to walk to get to the peak (There are a lot of staircase and I could remember how the leg feel like on the next day. Haha). Most importantly, there is a huge crater at the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. It looks like a gigantic crown. Seriously, you could have a great view of the crater if you took a helicopter ride. (And the shoot you get with the bird eye view will be even awesome compare to the one you see at the peak). We also have visited the Manjanggul Cave, a lava tunnel that is formed when the lava that was deep in the ground spouts from the peak and flows to the surface. Manjanggul Cave has a variety of interesting structures inside which include the turtle stone and a 70cm lava stalagmites.

And finally, we have our final stop at Sangumburi Crater. It is a pretty rush one where we reach there around 545pm and took like another 15min (quick) walks to reach the top. Along the way, you will see a lot of long grass (one of my favourite) and they just looks awesome when they turn yellow. It just give a very good feeling of Autumn when I am there. And of course, the mountain and forest view far away also give you a very gloomy feel during the sunset.

Is the end of the day, and we have went to a restaurant which is like 5 minutes walk from the guest house to take a quick meal. And headed to Saeyeon Bridge and Cheonjiyeon Falls to wrapped up the day. And yes, it has been a long (and tiring) day. Still, it feels great been to all these great locations, feel the breeze, seeing all the view and slowing down the pace of life out of those busy daily schedules. Just love these type of feeling. :") (Got to cherish every minutes you have for all the good stuff you received everyday)

This is a long post. I hope that you all have enjoy the photos. One more post to close up the Jeju Island tour. More to come on the next post. Have a great night peeps. Cheers!
